Sawyer is one month old! And obviously the happiest baby ever!
Right now we have him finally convinced it is ok to sleep in his bassinet. It's a wonderful thing! I can't believe it's really been a month. We were trying to decide if he is one month today the 25th of June (since he was born May 25th) or last Friday since technically that was exactly 4 weeks from the day he was born. What do you think?
This month has been a blur and I should have kept better record of it all! Here are some things I'm sure you're dying to know about Sawyer...
He isn't a fan of the baths, I imagine it's because he has zero control of his body so it seems like we are manhandling him each bath.
He also doesn't like wipes, but would you like something cold and wet on your bum?
He LOVES laying on his tummy. I'm constantly having an internal moral debate about whether or not to let him nap on him tummy. He just loves it.
He enjoy sucking on his green hospital binky.
He's still small, but growing fast!
He eats like a champ
He poops like a champ, and has had a couple of blow outs this last week.
We have been able to let him live it up a bit by taking of the gloves that were basically part of him for the first few weeks, he has really enjoyed grabbing things... and scratching me :)
The car seat was an ok place, now it's like placing him in a sauna, every time I take him out he is a sweaty mess.
He has discovered his lungs and isn't afraid to use them.
He's overall a great kid and we are loving him! It's amazing how his cute face makes up for him waking me up at all hours of the night.
I'm still recovering, but it's going well. My mom is here this week to spoil us. She's grocery shopping as I type. I have also gotten a ton of help from neighbors, family and friends. I spend at least one day a week at Cassies house. We really appreciate all the help we have received!
On Friday we went to dinner with friends, it was our first attempt at a date night with Sawyer, he did ok... I held him most of the time. I am getting real good and one handed things.
We are blessing him this Sunday. I'm excited for Tyler to get to do this for his son! We got him the most darling impractical blessing outfit today. I'm also excited for that!
We are crossing our fingers that, as we try to put this kiddo on a schedule, it will stick and we can eventually sleep at night! Wish us luck!!

Hospital
We spent 3 days in the hospital after little Sawyer. I loved it! I enjoyed having nurses who took care of me and my baby. I definitely needed the time to recover, and we loved all the visitors we got. Tyler was about done by day 3 but only because he had to sleep on that awful couch. He was such an awesome husband the whole time. Because I couldn't stand the first 2 days Tyler had to change all the diapers. He got really good really fast.
Proud daddy
We had lots of great visitors while we were at the hospital. We loved it. A few people got some food for Tyler. We got some beautiful flowers. It was nice to be able to share our precious baby with people. We should have taken more pictures though.

Baby Sawyer
38.2 weeks!
Our first family photo
Well, in my defense I did say that my next post would be me holding my newborn in my arms.... Baby Sawyer is here! And has been for 3 weeks haha. We are absolutely loving it. I am now officially a stay at home (mostly in my room) mom. It's great!
I guess I will start at the beginning... well at 36 weeks, that's when things got going. I had a beautiful pregnancy. I can count on one hand the number of times I threw up, and half of those times I was brushing my teeth. I worked up until 37 wks without much complaint. I was very content being pregnant, there was no real rush to be done other then I wanted to see the little guy. We had even taken a Hypnobirthing course and were excited to use the techniques we had learned. At my 36 wk appt I was dilated to a 1 and baby was in position... At 37 wks I was dilated to a 2 and found out that what we thought was a head was actually feet and, oh ya I had high blood pressure, and that's when everything perfect came to a screeching halt. Dr. O did a quick ultrasound to confirm and yep my baby boy was breech. We sat in the dr's office listening to him explain all my options (all 2 of them). Basically we could schedule a day to try and flip him, or schedule a day for a c-section.... I opted for my own option of wait and see. He agreed to let me wait till the following week. Well, of course nothing changed the next week (it was now tues). We talked more and decided to schedule the c-section for Friday, also went over to the hospital to do a non stress test just to be safe. Well, now I was anxious!! I wanted that baby asap lol. On Fri morning at 5:15 AM we arrived at the hospital. I was admitted into a hospital for the first time in my whole life. I put on the awful gown, got an IV which wasn't as bad as the nurse made me think it would be. Then sat around while I was pumped full of fluids. Dr. O came in and did a final ultrasound to verify Sawyers position, which was still breech. They had me walk to the OR room and sit on a bed where I awaited the spinal block. I had a wonderful nurse who held my shoulders while they did the numbing, which also wasn't as bad as I was prepared for. By this point though my whole upper half (it's all I can feel now) is shaking like crazy, guess I was nervous. They laid me down, scrubbed me up, and called in Tyler and the doc. I love my doctor and he quickly started chatting with me to put me at ease. Tyler sat at my head the whole time talking me through it all, he is wonderful. It was the strangest sensation I have ever experienced. I could feel pressure, but no pain (thankfully). It was quick and easy and soon enough I had a beautiful baby boy! Once he was out I was a lot calmer. Tyler left with Sawyer and we all chatted while I was sewn back together. I spent and hour in recovery then on to my room where I finally got to hold him. I have pics of me holding him, but I don't remember it haha. Here are some pics from the hospital.

Baby
We are so excited to FINALLY be telling everyone that we are having a baby. We found out over General Conference weekend in October and have had a hard time keeping the secret. We spilled the beans a few times, but now we can officially tell everyone! My due date is June 6th. It seems so far away, but the last 3 months have flown by so I'm sure the rest will too. So far we have seen the baby at 8 weeks and yesterday heard it's heartbeat. At the end of this month our wonderful Dr will peek and see if we can tell a gender.
What has this done to our lives? Well you will notice I'm getting bigger and my poor husband is getting smaller! I love to eat, but HATE to cook. If I cook it, I wont be able to eat it. We are so thankful for wonderful friends who have kept us fed well. My cravings have been random at best. I usually crave one thing and need it that second then I will move on the next. A few things we have been through are sticky rice, juice, top ramen, pepperoni pizza, wingers... the list goes on and on, but like I said I crave it, I eat it, and I move on. I haven't been very sick. I can count on both hands the number of really sick days I have had in the last 3 months. My boss says I'm meant to have 10 kids.... (I think he is insane). I am pretty tired though. I could spend the entire day on the couch taking naps on and off. It's terrible.
We feel pretty prepared for this pregnancy part of things. My good friend Cassie is also pregnant and she keeps me updated on what to expext. I think my Dr might wonder why I never ask him many questions.
Cass isn't my only pregnant friend, there are actually quite a few and I'm loving that!
Everyone has been wonderful to me. We told a few close friends that we do a weekly FHE with (becuase they were bound to notice my grumpiness) and one of the husbands says I am now allowed to do and say whatever I want. I knew I liked my friends. I try not to be too much of a brat, but people really do make it easy! haha I am truly grateful for everyones kindness.
Now I am just slowly growing and moving forward. I really feel like I need a makeover, my hair is too long and I have forgotten how to do my make up. I look pretty crazy most days!
well, I stink at this blogging stuff so the next post may just be a real picture of the baby!! Wish us luck!

I Strongly Dislike Running
Yet, I have signed up for 3 5K's this summer, one is next Saturday. What am I thinking? It's the guilt from that Easter candy. All 3 are for such good causes though, I couldn't pass them up. 2 of them my work is running and the other Tyler and I are running for a family in our ward. I started running again the other night with Cassie. It went well, we got the whole 3 miles in, so at least I know I can finish. Unfortunately, I think I crushed some vertebrae. I will be taking a quick trip to the chiropractor tomorrow and then will be ready to go again.
I'm actually not too worried. After riding along with Cass for up to 18 miles, 3 seems like cake. Even thought I would rather crawl then run, I do like how good it makes me feel to be active.
Want to join in on some of the running fun? Let me know and I can get you a link to every one of the 5K's I'll be running!

Happy Easter
We LOVE easter... and by we I mean me. I love the savior and all that he did for us and I love having a reason to celebrate him.
I also LOVE Easter candy! All 10 bags of it in my cupboards. It's awful, I know. I could easily eat a dozen cadbury eggs (which I did do). Easter eggs hunts are my game. We are pretty dang lucky to have some great friends who invite us their Easter celebration every year.
So this year, as tradition goes we went down to Payson (which by the way was voted #1 for best summer celeberation "onion days"... weird right?). We started off the fun with a kid egg hunt then an adult. I was so excited because Duncan, Dereks brother, left on a mission so we would have one less adult to compete with. However, Tiana brought her husband this year (he is usually traveling) and they worked us all!!! After the hunts we had a delicious dinner. I was in charge of dessert and I make this 2 layer cake filled with strawberries and cool whip. It turned out great.
Cassie had saved our rocket from last year so we set out to the feilds and shot off some rockets before ending the day.
While at the Andersons we also got up close and personal with 2 bee hive boxes. Cassie's father-in-law was just released from being Bishop and he decided to become a bee keeper. Now, I hate bees and will do just about anything to avoid them, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see this box up close. Brent taught us a ton about bees and I am glad we decided to check them out.
Sunday we went to Tylers parents and had more Easter celebrations with them. Our friend and relative (tylers sisters sister-in-law) got engaged on Sunday, what a way to celebrate. I love when people get engaged, I just know how awesome it is to be married and I'm excited for them to join the ranks.
Ok enough rambling... here are the pictures from the weekend of Easterness. Never mind the pictures wont load, maybe another time.

Soldier Hollow
My boss took the whole office on an outing to Soldier Hollow this winter (ps, it's still winter!) We could each bring our family, which means me and Tyler. Well.... Tyler was working so I decided to take my niece Julia. She and I had a blast!! I was nervous about driving to Heber in the winter, but the weather was fine. We were both completely bundled up, which ended up being completely unnecessary. It got so warm! We ended up taking off hats and coats and gloves just to cool off. Here are a few pictures of us waiting and sledding.

There really isnt a better place to sled. Each session is a perfect 2 hours. You take a tow rope up to the top, jump in a very short line, and speed your way to the bottom. Despite the short walking distances Julia still wanted me to pull her around. I tried, but it was too hard!!! On our way home we stopped at mickey D's and bought some lunch. I have never bought a happy meal for a kid (I shouldn't have really) but it was so fun to see her get excited about the barbie toy inside! I wish Tyler could have gone too, maybe next year!
